Get Happy

Elvis Costello and the Attractions

David Bedingfield

The King of Cool is back, with a 20-song album that refuses to let you catch your breath.

Elvis' too-hip baritone, called "hecktoring" by some N.Y. rock critic who's heavy into an analysis trip, is in great shape here, sliding up and down his three-note range with all the grace of Randy and Tai before he crushed his leg muscle.

Only problem here is that Elvis refuses to print his lyrics, which means you get a cramp in your neck as you lean close to the speakers and try and write them all down.

But hey, who cares? We're all overwhelmed by indifference and the promise of an early death, right?
