40 years on ........................... this is getting a bit relentless isn't it? Back "up North" for Elvis as they make their way "home" for the final London date on this tour back in the Palais so well known by Elvis from his Saturday afternoons watching his father Ross singing and playing with the Joe Loss Orchestra. To change proceedings again, Elvis starts things off with solo performances of "New Amsterdam" and "The Great Unknown" polishing up the latter in readiness for the next album and the showcasing in this instance shows the song is complete in all the essential elements. Steve then joins for "Pills And Soap" and then we again get a short Attractions set before the T.K.O. Horns appear. During the bridge of "Shabby Doll" you can't help but notice Steve syncopated piano figures which sound almost funky. The horns join before "High Fidelity" and Elvis sings a little line before "Watch Your Step" but I can't quite figure what it is! There is a glitch in the closing part of "Alison" in the "Living A Little" section and Afrodiziak join after "The Invisible Man" and sing their usual two songs without the horns before it returns to just the four Attractions. During "Big Sister's Clothes" Elvis' guitar seems a little flat and it makes a pretty discordant noise in places. This is an audience tape received in trade late in 83 or early 84 and seems to have a residual hum that you can pick up in the quiet places despite some remastering - especially noticeable in (of all songs) "T.K.O.(Boxing Day)".
