New Costello Album and Podcasts on iTunesFrom June 12 through August 21, iTunes will make available ten exclusive free podcasts to promote the release of The First Ten Years made up of interviews with Costello, including anecdotes regarding his entire career. Available on iTunes as of June 19 will be the ORIGINALS SESSIONS, featuring Elvis Costello performing solo on guitar, organ and other instruments, covering material from throughout his entire 30-year career, including Little Triggers, Motel Matches & more. ![]() John Ottaviano's interview with Steve Nieve Elvis Costello on tourElvis Costello and the Imposters have completed a twelve-city U.S. tour which began May 2 in West Hollywood, and took them to San Francisco, Reno, Denver, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, Boston, New York, Washington, and concluded May 19 in Philadelphia. Next up is a 15-date European tour in July with Allen Toussaint, Steve Nieve, and the Allen Toussaint Band & Horns. Beginning in Liverpool, on July 5, the tour continues to London, then Athens, Madrid, Malaga (Spain), Rotterdam, Ghent (Belgium), Molde (Norway), Pori (Finland), Rättvik (Sweden), Lucerne (Switzerland), Lyon (France), Calella de Palafrugell (Spain), San Sebastian (Spain) and ends in Loulé, Portugal on July 31. Emmylou Harris box set see also New ReleasesSeptember 18 is the release date for Songbird: Rare Tracks And Forgotten Gems, a 4CD/1DVD box set from Emmylou Harris. The DVD includes a duet with Elvis on Love Hurts, recorded last year at the Grand Ole Opry.

EC on Billy Strayhorn soundtrackOn January 23, 2007, Blue Note Records released the companion soundtrack to Billy Strayhorn: Lush Life, a 90-minute documentary film about the pioneering African-American composer, arranger and pianist. Special guest vocalist Elvis Costello performs on one of the most striking performances on the album, a haunting version of Strayhorn's final composition "Blood Count", which was written from a hospital bed shortly before he died in 1967. Here the tune is given lyrics penned by Costello and retitled My Flame Burns Blue (Blood Count)
The Secret Songs, full production, started March 1st'A chamber opera by British rock legend Elvis Costello spotlighting Hans Christian Andersen's unrequited love for the Swedish opera singer Jenny Lind. Elvis nominated for a GrammyThe River In Reverse was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Pop Vocal Album category. (The competition: Christina Aguilera, James Blunt, John Mayer, and Justin Timberlake.) Additionally, Vince Mendoza was nominated in the Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s) category for the title track from My Flame Burns Blue. Elvis performs at Toussaint show at Joe's Pub in New YorkElvis attended the Allen Toussaint brunch show on November 12. Allen's show was fabulous as usual. Elvis joined Allen on stage for part of the set that included The Sharpest Thorn, Ascension Day, What Do You Want The Girl To Do?, The Greatest Love and a rousing rendition of Yes We Can Can. After the show Elvis indicated that the setlist for the forthcoming Montreal DVD was limited to due "technical issues" with some of the songs. He talked about High Fidelity in particular.

Factory. Elvis' performances are drawn from concerts held 2001-04-25 and 2001-04-26 in Los Angeles.

Collaboration with Tony BennettIn tribute to Tony Bennett's 80th birthday (August 3, 2006), SONYBMG will release a duets CD in honor of this milestone, to be in stores on September 26th. An impressive roster of vocalists joined Tony in the recording studio earlier this year to record duet versions of the songs most associated with Bennett's repertoire. Among the list of guest duet artists are: Barbra Streisand, Bono, Elton John, John Legend, the Dixie Chicks, James Taylor, k.d. lang, Juanes, Elvis Costello, Tim McGraw and Sting.Each artist performed live with Tony in studios in New York, Los Angeles and London and for many of these artists this "face to face" approach was a departure from their standard method of studio recording. Phil Ramone, who worked with Tony on his Playin' With My Friends and Bennett on Holiday CDs, is the producer for this project as well.
