I've been to hundreds of concerts in my life but still rate this as the best ever. It was the last night of the Get Happy tour and a very rare concert at Canvey Island Paddocks. We were treated to two surprise support acts. First of all Clive Langer & The Boxes and then Rockpile with Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds in great form. So the crowd was buzzing when Elvis and the Attractions hit the stage and it just went uphill from there. Stand out tracks included I can't stand up for falling down, King Horse, Beaten to the Punch and What's So Funny Bout Peace Love and understanding. Get Happy is such a danceable album and the crowd went wild for it. I remember wringing my shirt out as I watched the tour bus disappear from the venue - the destination on the front of the bus was New Amsterdam! Absolutely brilliant. | |||
