Guests who'd gathered at the tiny Bay Area club Sweetwater to celebrate the twenty-first anniversary of one of the country's great record stores, Village Music, in Mill Valley, had a night to remember. The crowd was treated to performances by ELVIS COSTELLO, NICK LOWE, JERRY GARCIA, BOB WEIR, SAMMY HAGAR, ELVIS PRESLEY guitarist JAMES BURTON and COMMANDER CODY. Especially noteworthy was a country jam by Costello, Garcia and Burton. Says Costello, "I felt as jazzed about playing with Jerry Garcia as he did with James Burton."
