Elvis Costello’s discovered something about Country Music that I’ve yet to appreciate. If anybody is going to bridge the gap between Country and other types of music it’ll be Elvis.  I always think of Country singers as people with huge Stetsons who keep saying “Hi, y’all”. This helps to get away from that sort of image. The song is well played, well produced and well sung, the piano solo is amazing and the backing vocals are spot on – it’s a good record in every way. But I don’t like it.

Elvis Costello's discovered something about Country Music that I've yet to appreciate. If anybody is going to bridge the gap between Country and other types of music it'll be Elvis. I always think of Country singers as people with huge Stetsons who keep saying "Hi, y'all." This helps to get away from that sort of image. The song is well played, well produced and well sung, the piano solo is amazing and the backing vocals are spot on — it's a good record in every way. But I don't like it.
