Elvis Costello is to release a new album of covers, ''The Kojak Variety'', on May 22, including songs by Bob Dylan, | Elvis Costello is to release a new album of covers, ''The Kojak Variety'', on May 22, including songs by Bob Dylan, Willie Dixon, Ray Davies and Little Richard. The 15 tracks were originally recorded five years ago in Barbados, produced by Kevin Killen. They feature the Rude 5 band of musicians, some of whom worked on Costello's earlier ''King of America'' album. Costello is also working on soundtrack for a new Alan Bleasdale | ||
TV series with Richard Harvey, with whom he previously wrote the Bafta award-winning music for Bleasdale's ''GBH''. In June, Costello is producing and featuring in a week-long series of musical events at London's South Bank under the title Meltdown 95.
