Elvis Costello  blijft voor verrassingen zorgen. Nadat we net een beetje aan z'n „Nashville"-Imago waren gewend. is nu bekend geworden dat Costello volgend jaar in zee zal gaan met... het voltallige Royal Philharmome Orchestra. Een en ander zal op 7 januari plaatsvinden in de deftige Royal Albert Hall. Het eerste deel van het optreden aldaar zal evenwel in het teken staan van een Elvis op de country-toer; pas na de pauze zal een Londens publiek dan de première beleven van een Elvis „hooked on classics".
 
Volgende maand zal het met naar spanning uitgeziene country & western-album  van ELVIS COSTELLO uitkomen.  De lp, die "''Almost Blue''” gaat heten, wordt voorafgegaan door de single “It’s Been A Good Year For The Roses”, een compositie van Nashville-veteraan GEORGE JONES.
