Elvis Costello performs Friday

Syracuse Post-Standard

Singer-songwriter Elvis Costello will bring his brand of pop music to the State College at Oswego's Laker Hall at 8 p.m. Friday when he performs in concert w;th Nick Lowe.

Costello has been a popular part of the music scene on both sides of the Atlantic, premiering in England in 1976 and in the United States a year later.

In 1977 he cut his debut album, My Aim Is True, produced by Lowe and including the hit singles "Alison" and "The Angels manna Wear My Red Shoes."

He performed with "The Attractions" until 1984 and in 1986 was awarded the critics' "Performance of the Year Award." Costello's most recent U.S. release is last fall's LP Blood and Chocolate, which contains the hit "Tokyo Storm Warning,"
