Margate Winter Gardens saw its biggest-ever rock concert crowd in the main hall on Sunday.
More than 1,500 fans packed the building to hear the music of top band, Elvis Costello and The Attractions.
Elvis performed a string of hits including chart toppers "Oliver's Army" and "Can't Stand Up For Falling Down."
The star was so popular he was called back for three encores.
Theatre manager David Bill, said: "This is the biggest crowd the Winter Gardens had ever had for a live rock concert.
"The fans should be pleased with themselves for supporting the show in such a way. Many people automatically associate rock bands with trouble, but the crowds were extremely orderly."
Mr. Bill added: "There is obviously a market for this sort of entertainment in the area and we are hoping to bring down even bigger bands."
