Re: 'The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook', Nov.
Can anyone explain what is happening with this release? Amazon in the UK and US are advertising two versions of the CD release available from 21 February. One is a 2 CD release for GBP 22.75,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Return-Spectacu ... B006ISJPXG
or US Dollars 22.59
http://www.amazon.com/Return-Spectacula ... B006ISJPXG
the other a single CD release GBP 18.59,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Return-Spectacu ... B006CVOK8O
or US Dollars 14.44
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B006CVOK8O
The UK releases seem overpriced (although clearly not as over-priced as the box set).
Are Amazon just inventing releases now, or if not, what would be on the 2CD set or is it a CD and DVD together?
Oh, and why is the UK release date a fortnight ahead of the US?

Re: 'The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook', Nov.
There are three upcoming Spinning Songbook releases:
1.) A single CD release, identical in content to the CD contained in the limited deluxe edition.
2.) A single DVD release, identical in content to the DVD contained in the limited deluxe edition.
3.) A 2-disc, CD/DVD combo edition, (again, identical content) that includes a 28-page booklet with Elvis' liner notes, apparently identical to the tour journal contained in the limited deluxe edition.

Re: 'The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook', Nov.
I think Amazon are indeed inventing releases, their web site is certainly misleading. The link you post above
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Return-Spectacu ... B006ISJPXG
contains the same product description as the limited edition box currently retailing on Amazon at $328.06. I think this is just a mistake with the product description being lazily copied from the box set product. Even the customer reviews are about the box set.
Amazon are also listing 2 separate titles with the slightly different title: The Return of the Spectacular Spinning Wheel (Live CD) at $14.44 with the DVD at $19.99 with no mention of any extras (book, photos, poster, etc ) That seems more probable, but it's far from clear.

On Amazon U.S., the 2-disc listing is attributed to a different label than the two single-disc releases.

I think we're making too much of all the typical Amazon errors.

The 2-disc release (as shown by Amazon, anyway) has a slightly different track list than the individual releases.

This is funny:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Return-Spectacu ... _cp_m_h__0
It's the new edition, I suppose; but if your read the details + the reviews, they're all talking about the horribly expensive deluxe version, including the lavish book etc.
So, if you want to have Amazon by the b***s, and make them honour their own rules of guarantee, you can (pre-)order the Superdeluxe version for £15.00 ...
Mmm, I don't think I'm even going to try to twist their arms about this

Re: 'The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook', Nov.
Release date in the UK, on Amazon.co.uk is still 12 March. An April release date in North America makes sense, given that Elvis is touring the show in the US and Canada from 10 April until the end of the month. The UK/Europe release date makes less sense, as the Revolver tours does not cross the Atlantic until May when it reaches Dublin. Of course it could be that Amazon in the UK have not yet got round to updating that page....migdd wrote:Amazon now lists the release date as April 3. sigh . . .
