This is — I think! — Elvis' first ever performance in West Virginia, leaving Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming as the only states which have never hosted an Elvis concert.

Shows scheduled for Montana and Wyoming in 2005 were canceled.

Given his friendship with Bill Clinton maybe an Arkansas date will happen.

And an Alaskan date purely for Sarah Palin comedy gold.
Who’s this kid with his mumbo jumbo?

Elvis Costello and the Attractions will be performing at Marshall University October 8.

I could almost weep.

Anyway, more details about the upcoming Marshall Artist Series later this afternoon. Well, okay… Ce Lo Green, Michael McDonald and Glen Campbell are also coming, but that’s it for now.

Holy cow. Elvis freakin’ Costello.

This show seems to be flying under the radar at the moment. It is on the "Dance Card" on EC's website, but there was no presale for it (public ticket sales were 8/22) and it isn't listed as a Revolver Tour show. I emailed the folks at Marshall University who are promoting the show, and received a very speedy reply from one Angela Jones, Director of Marketing for the Marshall Artists Series. She assures me that this is indeed a Revolver show and that the Wheel will be there. It's in a really old movie theatre, so seems like a good venue for the Wheel. I suggested she get the EC website folks to include the date in the Revolver announcements, and she said she'd work on it.

If in fact this is a Revolver date, right now it could be the tour finale!

I've got my ticket, BA! If it's the last one, I'll be there. If the Wellmont is the last one, I'll try to be there.

I've seen 7 Revolver shows so far, got 3-5 more possible.....sorry, Sulky :(

BA, my totals are way up there, true, but there are folks I know who've seen more shows than me, I don't think I'll ever catch up!

Yeah, BA, that's what I'm talking about. No mention of W Va. That's why I'm trying to get the local promoter to talk to EC's people and get some definite word. I find it hard to believe the Wellmont 2 nighter is not the big finish. But why have a theatre show 2 night later w/o the Wheel?

do tell dave...what's the number you know of someone attending EC shows?; Robbie, Milo, Paddy and rest of crew exempt!

& darn, i can't find the thread where we were discussing when attending 1 of 2 at same venue. curiosity: WHICH SET DID YOU PREFER from weds/thurs?

I just know some people who are up over 200.

Sadly, it looks like tomorrow night is not going to get added to my grand total. My wife is ill and I don't think I'm going to drive six hours or whatever away when she needs me. Barring a miracle, I'm gonna miss this one.

As for Wellmont, they are pretty even in terms of songs where I read the setlist and go, oh, I would have liked to have seen that. I think I'd vote for the 6th because of the unusual set with Hubert Sumlin. Plus Kid and Voice.
