Info file for "Elvis Costello, Glastonbury 2005-06-24 PAL DVD 16:9 Remaster"
Elvis Costello & The Imposters
Glastonbury Festival
24th June, 2005
BBC4 Broadcast

Captured and uploaded to http://www.dimeadozen.org by Henrys
on the night...worthy of mad props!
Remastered by Rupert Coles, UK Mutt Productions,
Novato, California, on 6/26/05...

1)The biggest change is that the squished "Spaghetti Western" video
was restored to its original, glorious 16:9 PAL aspect ratio,
using TMPGEnc. Thank you, BBC!

2)The Dolby AC3 audio track was decoded to a 48kHtz, 16bit wav file,
using VirtualDub. One reason for this, being that my home stereo
will not send a stereo AC3 signal to my subwoofer, thus leaving it
as nothing more than decoration, and a place for my son's toys.

3)The stereo wav file was then loaded into Soundforge 7.0, where the
start and end of the file were faded in and out, respectively. The
audio signal was also dramatically boosted, due to a previously
low level. The opening announcer was turned waaay down, as not to
offend your ears and mine. No other adjustments were made to the
audio signal.

4)Finally, menues and chapters were created in TMGEncDVDAuthor.
My beautiful screen captures were squeezed for some reason, but the
original aspect ratio of the actual programme remains intact.

As for national formats: Sorry, but if you live here in The United
States of "Amerka" like me, and you are too cheap to go out and spend
the fifty bucks on a DVD player that will decode PAL, you are out of
luck. I don't see the need to re-format it(plus, PAL is the superior
format anyway).
