Glitter Gulch

Post by Copenhagen Fan »

As many of you have heard before...Glitter Gulch is one of my most hated EC songs.......I was watching a documentary on Elvis Presley and heard that James Butler had actually used the same guitar riff on one of Fried Banana Sandwich Boy's songs!!!!!!

I hate Glitter Gulch..............and Luxemburg.

Glitter Gulch is still one of my favorite songs.

Cope, if you can't respect the intricate vocal melody, you should be hugged.

When I first heard "Glitter Gulch" a couple years ago, it was without a doubt one of my least favorite tracks on King Of America. This song was definitely an acquired taste. I gave it more listens and the more and more I heard it, the more and more I liked it. It's one of my favorites on King Of America now.

Copenhagen Fan, don't you mean James Burton?

That's a pretty standard riff that Burton is using on Glitter Gulch, often used by Presley as a "vamp" while coming onstage -- most often during "CC Rider", I believe.

I love Glitter Gulch...and I still think it's named after this rinky dink slots-only casino in Downtown Vegas, where I once ate faux White Castle Burgers that actually tasted nothing like the real thing. Funny part was, when I ate my first real Castleburgers, I found I'd like the faux Glitter Gulch loss-leader burgers better!
