Anybody seeing anything good in the next few months?
I'm going to see The Jayhawks next Tuesday, and Bowie in April (rescheduled after he got sick in December)

This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

You mean, besides ELVIS COSTELLO and STEVE and THE BRODSKYS at the RYMAN next month?

Both fun and obnoxious at the same time. He does mostly covers of songs by people like Bo Diddley, while maintaining a very white boy biker image.martinfoyle wrote:No, what's he like?mood swung wrote:have you seen George Thorogood before, mr. martinfoyle?

I've got tix to EC, sans Brodskys (alas) in March.
Tix to the Ray Brown tribute in Feb.
April 1st I have tickets to a Hal Wilner Firesign Theatre thing...should be fun.
Waiting to swoop into ticketmaster on Sat for tix to EC in SF.---A great excuse for a weekend in SF!!
Was thinking about going to the Randy Newman tribute next week, but may have to rethink.....plastic is melting.....

so lacklustre - I'm going to see the big nosed bard from Barking in Brighton on 27th.so lacklustre wrote:I'm off to see Billy Bragg solo in March, and still considering getting tickets for EC at Bournemouth (if there are any tickets left) but am a bit skint at the moment and so may have to wait.
I'm also going to EC in Bournemouth. I think he'll be announcing some more dates as the English sound crew has been booked for April. If this turns out to be the only date then we should organise a meet up.

No, what's he like?
I've never had the pleasure, but I love his first 2 or 3 albums. He also covered NL's Half a Boy on a later release. I look forward to your report. Yes, he does mostly covers like Blue mentioned, but I like the way he does them.

I'll be taking in a third-graders' recorder recital sometime in April. Admission is 2 dozen home-baked cookies. Set list includes Hot Cross Buns; Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star; Frere Jacques; and as an encore, Oats, Peas and Beans. We're also hoping for a rousing rendition of Yangtze River. I hope no one gets trampled in the push for front-row seats, but you know how wild these things can get....
I know you are all dying of jealousy of my jet-set lifestyle.

G2S - You need to paste a link to the ticket agent.
vg - I'm seeing BB at Southampton. Will probably get late tickets for BIC if no other uk dates are announced. Saw B.South there last year and it is an okay venue although it took us the best part of hour to get out of the multi-story car park after the show.

Olivers Army tonight in Fort Worth. Last week OA played in Deep Ellum in Dallas, shoehorned between 2 other tribute bands. A Hardnights Day(Beatles) and Diamondback(Neil Diamond). A truncated set, about 70 minutes, excellent nonetheless. Our own Noiseradio looking very snappy in black suit with purple tie. Looking forward to a full setlist tonight in FW.
Now I'm the invisible man, and you can't see me.
