So I'm watching VH-1 doing this "I Love the 70's" series, and they're showing clips from the series "The Hulk." They start playing "Pump It Up" when they show Hulk exploding out of his clothes. I apparently didn't notice it until my teenage daughter started singing along and then it hit me, "that's Elvis!"
I was in my condo in Chicago the other night eating Cheetos and watching porno when the guy in the next condo started blasting Moby.
It kind of freaked me out so I put down the lotion, went to the CD player and put on Punch The Clock.
I then made a sandwich and fell asleep to the History Channel.
Kind of eerie, isn't it?

Also watching 'I Love The '70's', they played 'I Can't Stand Up, etc' during the Slip & Slide clips.
This never, ever happens to me, 'cuz I'm rarely paying attention, so I was thrilled; thrilled enough to overcome my embarrassment at having to admit I was watching 'I Love The '70's'.

It's a radiation vibe I'm groovin' on

Did anyone just see Elvis on Dead Ringers New Year Special. They were doing a scene in a chemist shop with an impressionist doing Ozzy Osborne. Unsuspecting members of the public came in and were on film then Elvis suddenly appeared. It didn't seem to be a celebrity appearance, it just seemed like he was coming in as an ordinary customer. Does anyone recon that it was arranged or whether it was just a coincidence? Which ever it was, it was a nice surprise.

Forgive me for being American; though I'm quite sure the World won't, I would hope that the discerning EC message board fan might; but what exactly is a "chemist shop"?Emotional Ricochet wrote:Did anyone just see Elvis on Dead Ringers New Year Special. I'm thinking Bunsen Burners and Chloroform? Am I close? And if so, what may have Elvis been doing in such an interesting place? Perhaps preparing a potion to alter or suspend Bruce's forthcoming book; The Little Cartwheel or (How I met Diana at a Cheerleading Composition and learned to love it.)
Forgive me board, I've lost my wit. I've lost it.

Nick Ratcliffe writes on l-listserv-
Earlier today Matthew wrote this about
EC's appearance on the New Year's edition of "Dead Ringers" .
"Yes, it was definitely Elvis. It was very hard to tell if it was a set-up or not, but either way it was pretty funny. The Ozzy impersonation
was spot-on. If it wasn't arranged in advance, Elvis must have been very confused."
Jon Culshaw, of Dead Ringers, was on the Mark Lamarr show on BBC Radio 2 this morning (sitting in for Jonathan Ross). For the next 7 days you can hear the show again here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/ross/ and click on "listen live"
(needs realplayer).
Culshaw enters about 50 minutes into the 3 hour show. You can get there by clicking the "skip 5 mins" button ten times !
He discusses EC's appearance about 1 hour twelve minutes into the show. According to Culshaw, it was not set up and EC's appearance was
unplanned !

my kids won prizes at school, so I had to take them to Mr. Gatti's (a wretched, horrible pizza buffet kind of place with a game room) yesterday. The last time I was forced to be in this place, Billy Bob and Martha Sue were belting out gospel music accompanied by a boombox. It was hell. The angels in their red shoes were watching over me yesterday--"Still" was playing when we arrived.
Like me, the "g" is silent.

In addition, I've heard them do "Goon Squad" and several others, as well as some Squeeze.
In any case, I've heard them do it so much, it's more like Elvis where I MOST expect him. (I'm guessing that Jimmy Vivino is a big EC fan -- they seemed to be doing it slightly more while Max was away.)

I love my kids. My two 12 year-olds were doing homework together and both ran into the kitchen to tell DrS and I that Elvis was on VH-1. We had left our television on VH-1 classics and had stepped out of the room for a few minutes. They said they heard "Alison" and started singing along and realized it was on our TV. They said they knew we would want to know.
