Hanson all grown up....
Not right now, but will be listening to Girls Girls Girls, even though I've heard all the songs. A friend of the family just popped in. He was at the local used CD shop and came across it for $6, in the Elvis Presley section. Well, I guess this means mission accomplished; People see Elvis Costello's name and they think of me. Hehe.

Forget Interpol, here's a great cover of the immortal Joy Division classic Ceremony from a new Radiohead webcast. Lovely letting rip with the guitars:

That guitar is so pretty, I gave that a virtual spin as well. Very nice, a little sleepy for this caffeine-deprived person.
I saw the Dogtown documentary as well as the movie with an uglied-up Heath Ledger (what a waste!!!). It was sort of a skateboarding 'perfect storm' - the kids, the technology, the drought.
Anyway, something to wake me up

A y'alternative blend playlist compiled by all my friends at Napster. Yes, the title sucked me in. The only names I recognize are Hank III, Todd Snider, Charlie Louvin and Robbie Fulks. So far, the highlight has been Sometimes It Takes Balls To Be A Woman by Elizabeth Cook.
He says I should repent for the money I spent on shoes and bags and jewelry
Well to hell with that, my hard working ass ain't gonna sit before a jury
Now isn't that a mighty small price to pay
For all the love I send your way
Honey when it comes down to the plumbin'
Sometimes it takes balls to be a woman
that's poetry, baby.

Yep. The whole family went 'Oh no, she wants Tom Waits!' in as gravelly voices as they could muster. I'm usually alone in my music choice. Well anyway, good to know, good to know. I like to collect artists, as it were.BlueChair wrote:Definitely a classic, StrictTime. Is that your first Waits album? If so, you've got quite a fun journey ahead of you.
