I'm a little surprised and disappointed no full recordings have turned up of any of the San Francisco sets. :(

I went to this. Carlene Carter and Jim Lauderdale were great. I missed half the show because I was at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass all day (all weekend really). I have photos to share and I will try to post when I have time. One thing about this show is that they changed it from a Friday to a Sunday night gig. It's brutal considering it's held the same weekend as Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and quite honestly, by Sunday everyone and anyone who goes to the festival is usually partied up to the max. There were dudes in the back who had their heads on the table... classic. I was burnt to a crisp - literally in many ways and degrees. I had two women at this show tell me I was red. One asked if I was OK and needed medical attention (Come on!). Also, the show was loaded with lots of Marin folk who give off a different vibe from SF city folk. I have no problem with that, but I always wonder what exactly goes on over there. I envision hot tubs, "bob & carol & ted & alice" kind of parties, and boat drinks. I talked to one guy and said, you live in Marin, yes? He has was astounded that I knew without knowing him. I told him the preppy, boat look is what gave him away. Whatever. I guess I need the grit of the city to feel like I'm part of the scene. Depending on who is on the bill next year, I might just donate online. HSB + Sunday gig + new venue all way across town = well, nothing really, just pure exhaustion. They should stream this online and have people donate from their laptops. I would do that up, no prob.
