Hands up who put Mohammed Kader in their fantasy team then? I wondered if they would even score in the tournament and am so pleased to have been proved wrong.

Otto Pfister is a superb porn name. Is Stefan Kuntz still around? Wouldn't it be great if Otto Pfister married Stefan Kuntz sister and they took a double-barrelled surname?

MDM - I was being polite (as I do every once in a while).

This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

I followed along on matchtracker and it looked like Togo did really well - they were down to 10 before the half? They at least showed up ready to play.

VG, thanks for being polite. And to IP as well. If you listen really carefully, you can hear the sharks circling. Or are they buzzards? I am fantastically curious to see what Il Bruce will roll out Saturday. "We've tried this line up about a gazillion times with no success, but I'm feeling lucky and this might take them by surprise...if it doesn't work, it's (choose Donovan, Beasley and/or Keller)'s fault"
Like me, the "g" is silent.

France v Switzerland - now THAT was dull. Worse than England-Paraguay. C'mon Brazil and Croatia - entertain us a bit.

Well, crap, Henry didn't get subbed from my squad after all. Dammit I need those little points. Missed the match itself, except for the Swiss fuck-up at the end.

You will get the points for Henry at the end of Group Phase Round one. Not that he's going to help you much based on that performance. France couldn't score in a whorehouse with a fistful of twenties at the moment.

WSS, I think we're tied now.

I'm having a blast doing this, can you tell? I may go entirely south before too long, but who cares...

Missed the second half due to a little mini-crisis at work (how in the world can people expect me to get anything done with the World Cup on?), but it sounds like the match fizzled out a bit. Kaka nets me 8 points and the fairly anonymous Adriano 4.

I still have two players left - Fabregas and Shevchenko. Hopefully they can weave some magic. At least one of my players has scored now.

By the way, you have four free transfers you can make before the next round, but must do it by tomorrow.

The Fantasy League tension is starting to drive me mad. :D
I'm gonna spend the night thinking what transfers I should make.

Had to do mine already as no access to computer before tomorrow evening's match.
Rapid disinvestment in French players on today's pathetic showing. Brazil were only slightly better really, but won't carry on in that vein.

Same here. Au revoir Franck Ribery, we hardly knew ye.

I like the Italians to spank the hapless Americans, so I'll keep faith with Toni for now.

Not for long, MG. All his players have done their thing. Someone will probably overtake him.

Yes, and I'm hoping it might be me-- I've got two Spaniards left! (Though so does the King of Fish Fingers!)

4th on goal difference. I can handle that. Now all I need to do is transfer out all my players who are injured and generally not playing, and I'll be in business...
