Elvis covers question

Post by DeathWearsABigHat »

I was just wondering if anyone out there could give me some info on who did the original versions of certain songs that Elvis has covered.
I own the Good Years for the Roses compilation which I love. Isn't it about time someone released a volume 2 of that? Or has anyone on this list created their own version?
The songs I'm particularly interested in are:

Really Mystified
The Ugly Things
Get Yourself Another Fool
Remove this Doubt (is this a Motown tune?)
Ship of Fools
Success
Sally Sue Brown
Wondering (I've always imagined this is a Patsy Cline song, am I right?)
Living a Little, Laughing a Little

Wow. That looks fantastic.
if it not's a stupid question (and it probably is) how can I get a copy of those discs?
I have quite a bit of EC live stuff to trade if that's the right way of doing it.

I have Remove This Doubt on a Diana Ross & The Supremes compilation and yes it's Motown.

The Ugly Things is on Surrender to the Rhythm, the best of Brinsley Schwarz, a great 1-disc overview of their career. Probably a better set of songs is this CD of their last two albums, which also has the Ugly Things on. The CDs are worth checking out if you like EC, Nick Lowe, The Rumour and that sort of thing anyway. I do realise you may be looking for more than that though!

'Living A Little......' is on John Hiatt's Warming Up To the Ice Age
