Making a deliberate detour through Tulsa on a rare day off from his current tour with the Imposters and Charlie Sexton, Elvis Costello visited the Bob Dylan Center to study Dylan's handwritten lyrics to "Farewell, Angelina" — which he'd recently joined fellow center curator Rosanne Cash in singing at the 30A Songwriters Festival in Florida — and check out the jukebox that he programmed for the center's grand opening with some 160 Dylan recordings, cover versions and related tunes. The jukebox, like Elvis himself, remains a perennial center favorite. Costello also toured the Woody Guthrie Center, marveling at the Dust Bowl troubadour's well-traveled guitars and prescient songwriting.
