Bad on me but my niece, Caitlin Hickey, just finished competing in the Piano Concerto competition at the New England Music Conservatory. She did not win but I am so proud of her for competing. Here is a video of a portion of her performance of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue"- all I need now is the spooling opening scenes of "Manhattan". I look forward to a full rendition next week when we are in Brookline, MA for the holiday:

Your pride is warranted, Chris! It must be wonderful to have a family with such a rich creative life. I come out of a much more boring middle-class suburbia, where sitting around watching TV was Pastime One. Cherish that wonderful family of yours and its proud artistic/musical heritage.
