Gilda's?
I think Bleak House is a Boston co-production, sure to air there soon. Love the 30 minute format. Kept it all so zippy. Great direction, great acting, great story, couldn't ask for more. Nice that it was stuffed with big names, but the main parts often unknowns.
SLL: indeed, you would make a great Smallweed. What about BWAP as Skimpole? Bit cruel of me, no?
Tim(e): knew you'd enjoy that pairing.
I realised that due to the BBC's odd positioning of additional characters' names top right, I'd overlooked a crucial character. I included Mrs Guppy (the wonderful Sheila Hancock) as it linked with the son, but how could I forget:
Hortense - this goes to Extreme Honey, even though it requires some cross-dressing. At least I avoided the stereotypical choice of Verena!

At this point in my life, there is nothing I'd like more than money. I know it sounds like a greedy thing to say but it seems like I've been in university for decades and I don't know how on earth I'm going to pay off all my debts.Otis Westinghouse wrote:Knew you'd enjoy the challenge.
Preacher was a talkin' there's a sermon he gave,
He said every man's conscience is vile and depraved,
You cannot depend on it to be your guide
When it's you who must keep it satisfied

Thank you for that, Otis! Finally, I get an old biddy. I had been getting a few smart/hot girl parts, which, while very welcome, are so very laughably against type. Miss Flite is much less of a stretch.Otis Westinghouse wrote:Bleak House, as done, quite superbly, by the BBC:

It's a radiation vibe I'm groovin' on
Extreme Honey, I guess it depends to whom you are indebeted. What are you studying, may I ask ?
Ot., I was joking about the movie Gilda, an old black & white starring Rita Hayworth. And your casting for me in Bleak House isn't so stereotypical. It would take real acting for me to mistreat a maid, or anyone for that matter (well, knowingly).

Well, I tend to interpret everything as approval, but Pip actually wrote a poem and showed it to me. I still remember it:
Miss B, I love your cooking
And you are so good-looking
You cured me from pneumonia
With your gruel and your ammonia
Your cooking is divine
With a bottle of red wine
More gruel if you please
And I'll ditch that mac and cheese
So you see, it wasn't that inscrutable...

She showed me that one too:
O Soul, did I tell a lie? Or not?
I really can't decide what was in the pot
But Miss B is such an excellent person
Who always matches her purse and
Her shoes. The truth was, I had a cold
The food looked good, and I've a heart of gold.
So, sorry if we're both going to Hell
Because I temporarily lost my sense of smell.

Oh my. I walk away for 10 ... er, minutes and youre analyzing my poetry!
For the record I just want to say that Miss BA did, in fact, cure me from pneumonia and just for that alone, I would have to say that everything she touches is golden! Even the gruel! That wonderful, wonderful gruel. I mean, what else could convince me to give up my steady diet of mac and cheese?
