Well, we're just flying over for two gigs (Helsinki and Lahti), which is more than most bands play, but we've been invited to six parties so far!
Fin-fun #1: In our old eastern colony (yes, we had several, thankyouverymuch) the headliners are rarely the last band to play, because by then most of the audience is too drunk to notice.

I remember seeing The Style Council play like this on their first tour. They came on first, then had The Questions, then Billy Bragg, then The Questions and then The Style Council again.
I knew the format in advance so I was on the front row standing. There were a bunch of irritated people who followed their norms of getting drunk first and not bothering to see the main band until about 9pm by which time TSC only played about 45 minutes when they came on for the second time.
On another occasion I went to see The Kinks who were supported by Squeeze at the Alexandra Palace. After Squeeze finished their set half of the audience went too.

How about this classic?:
Tongue-tied, (I'm) short of breath, don't even try
Try a little harder
Something's wrong, you're not naive, you must be strong
Ooh, baby, try
Hey girl, move a little closer.
You're
Too shy shy
Hush hush, eye to eye
Too shy shy
Hush hush, eye to eye
Too shy shy
Hush hush, eye to eye
Too shy shy
Hush hush
Modern medicine falls short of your complaints
Ooh, try a little harder
You're moving in circles, won't you dilate
Baby try
Hey girl, move a little closer
'Cause, you're
Too shy shy
Hush hush, eye to eye
Too shy shy
Hush hush, eye to eye
Too shy shy
Hush hush, eye to eye
Too shy shy
Hush hush

Uh huh, this my shit
All the girls stomp your feet like this
A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna happen like that
Cause I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl
[2x]
Oooh, this my Shit , this my Shit [4x]
I heard that you were talking shit
And you didn't think that I would hear it
People hear you talking like that, getting everybody fired up
So I'm ready to attack, gonna lead the pack
Gonna get a touchdown, gonna take you out
That's right, put your pom-poms down, getting everybody fired up
A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna happen like that
Cause I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl
[2x]
Oooh, this my Shit , this my Shit [4x]
So that's right dude, meet me at the bleachers
No principals, no student-teachers
Both of us want to be the winner, but there can only be one
So I'm gonna fight, gonna give it my all
Gonna make you fall, gonna sock it to you
That's right, I'm the last one standing, another one bites the dust
A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna happen like that
Cause I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

I don't expect many arguements over this one:
True, by Spandau Ballet
So true
Funny how it seems
Always in time, but never in line for dreams
Head over heels, when toe to toe
This is the sound of my soul
This is the sound
I bought a ticket to the world
But now I’ve come back again
Why do I find it hard to write the next line
When I want the truth to be said
I know this much is true
With a thrill in my head an a pill on my tongue
Dissolve the nerves that have just begun
Listening to marvin all night long
This is the sound of my soul
This is the sound
Always slipping from my hands
Sand’s a time of t’s own
Take your seaside arms and write the next line
Oh I want the truth to be known
Utter tosh, yet Tony Hadley puts his heart & soul into it, every time.

Stumbled across this pile of steaming excrement today (like something out of a high-school diary):
Unsent - Alanis Morissette
Dear Matthew, I like you a lot.
I realize you're in a relationship with someone right now,
And I respect that.
I would like you to know that if you're ever single in the future,
And you want to come visit me in California,
I would be open to spending time with you,
And finding out how old you were when you wrote your first song.
Dear Jonathan, I liked you too much.
I used to be attracted to boys who would lie to me,
And think solely about themselves,
And you were plenty self-destructive for my taste at the time.
I used to say the more tragic the better.
The truth is, whenever I think of the early 90's,
Your face comes up with a vengeance like it was yesterday.
Dear Terrance, I love you muchly.
You've been nothing but open hearted,
And emotionally available and supportive,
And nurturing, and consummately there for me.
I kept drawing you in and pushing you away,
I remember how beautiful it was to fall asleep on your couch,
And cry in front of you for the first time.
You were the best platform from which to jump beyond myself.
What was wrong with me?
Dear Marcus, you rocked my world.
You had a charismatic way about you with the woman,
And you got me seriously thinking about spirituality.
And you wouldn't let me get away with kicking my own ass.
But I could never really feel relaxed,
And looked out for around you, though,
And that stopped us from going any further than we did.
And it's kinda too bad,
Because we could've had much more fun.
Dear Lou, we learned so much.
I realize we won't be able to talk for some time,
And I understand that as I do you.
The long distance thing was the hardest,
And we did as well as we could.
We were together during a very tumultuous time in our lives.
I will always have your back and be curious about you,
About your career,
Your whereabouts.

She's a fucking shrew I tell you! The only reason I'll be visiting her in California is to burn her house down. Notice she only says she'd be "open" to spending time with me, not that she actually will.
Seriously, the funniest thing about the song is how her complete selfishness masquerades as genuine concern for her former lovers - sort of "thanks for helping me move on from you."

I know more than a few Talking Heads fans who like the world music rhythms of "I Zimbra" but think that the nonsensical lyrics are a waste of time. I could not disagree more. I sing along to every phonetic syllable, and to this day I just presume that the lyrics are meaningless, words selected to augment the music.
Not that the Talking Heads album entitled "Naked" was recorded in a way that supports the earlier "I Zimbra" methodology. The music was first laid down in Paris. The lyrics were written post hoc, as inspired by the music, not the traditional way. Songs like "Mr. Jones" and "Nothing But Flowers" are incredible tunes created backwards.
Years and years ago Jon Anderson and Chris Squire composed a four sided lp (predating CD's) called "Tales of Topographic Oceans" wherein they chose nonsense words that augmented the instruments and created an ethereal sound that, in my opinion, works very well.

Rick Wakeman refers to that as "Tales from Toby's Go Cart", I think he holds it in low esteem compared to earlier, less overblown offerings (eg "Fragile").Mr. Average wrote:... I remember an interview in the late 70s where Chris Squire defended Jon's lyricism, saying "Who'd want to listen to songs about going down the shops for a packet of fags?" - that whole Punk/New Wave thing just didn't register with Yes.
However, on a wider note, I think that there's a big difference between the use of words as 'form' as opposed to 'content'.
Lots of famous 'songs' have no actual meaning (e.g. I am the Walrus, Jean Genie) but still manage to 'sound good'. Yet, many fans still pursue every last syllable hoping to divine something hidden within, when actually there is no reason, just rhythm & rhyme.

Misha, re: My Humps - c'mon now, haven't you seen the video???
Its a great piece of sleazy pop artistry, and I found it to be quite infectious. And the lyrics are right on. Theres no denying that we spend lots of money to get at them humps and lumps, while she . . . knowing full well what we want, takes advantage of the situation. Its cat and mouse and very animalistic and primitive manner of courting when you get right down to it, widely practiced round the world in varying shades . . . so I find the in-your-face sarcasm to be hilarious. Explores some of the same ideas that are in Monkey to Man.
Afterall, WHAT IS so damned interesting about what shes got inside that trunk??
