RIP Hunter S Thompson

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Wow, Im stunned - he shot himself? Its not clear from that article if it was an accident or not? Either way, very sad - a legend in every way.
echos myron like a siren
with endurance like the liberty bell
and he tells you of the dreamers
but he's cracked up like the road
and he'd like to lift us up, but we're a very heavy load

Yeah... it's been a while since a have read of a "celebrity" death that gave me such a shock! The combination of Thompson and Steadman had a big impact on me in the early 70's.

I'm kind of surprised at how surprised I am. Fear and Loathing and the Great Shark Hunt both had huge impacts in my life.

I thought he was already dead
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Very, very sad. For his last column (for ESPN!) go here:

Guns were obviously a big part of his life.

And he signs off in that particular column with "So long and Mahalo" which apparently (according to this article) is "thank you" in Hawaiian. Very sad indeed.
