SMM - Aye!! 8)

What's near the venue as a meet-up spot? Have poked around on the web but it's hard to know what's what from waaaaaaaaaaaay over here. I'm thinking 6 or 6:30 for an 8 pm show?

Von - I have a spare ticket for sale if your brother wants to go, I think it's row J or K. pm me if he wants it, NO BOOKING FEE!!

Aye.

SMM, I think BWAP was planning on getting up there early if you're around. There are plenty of pubs and eating places in the area. Will let you know of a meeting place unless anyone else knows of somewhere good.

I'm in and, as SLL, will try to escape work early and catch an early aftenoon train up to London for food and drink before the show.

Okay, who's got our drinking venue picked out? 5:30 or 6 should be fine for doors at 8, if it's near the Apollo, no?

And wasn't there a Foyle who might be coming? John?

Afraid not . I will , however ( trumpets sound) , be going to the Liverpool show on Feb.16th - can't wait!

I've never enjoyed Elvis' shows in London . I saw him there with the Rude Five in '91 , Burt B. in '98 and The Imposters in '02. There's something about the London audiences. They always seem to have a certain indifference , a sort of , were-so-used-to-seeing-the-greats , heres-another-one, blimey-hope-I-get-out-in-time-for-the-last-tube vibe. Also all the super-cynical , jaded media types will be there. I'm thinking of the time I tried to spoof my way into the North show in the Cafe de Paris in Sept. '03. After the lady with the clipboard and the set-grin refused me I stood back and watched her nod in every BBC lag going , none of them seeming to have even the slightest ducumentation except the shared attitude of ' Oh , dear , here we are , suppose we best pop in and have some free drinkies while that funny man with glasses sings a few songs'. When I passed the venue an hour or so later they were all hanging around the entrance having a smoke , while the music wafted out. Bastards!

Nope , I'll stick to seeing Elvis in the provinces in future. Plymouth in '99 was great , as was Glasgow these past two Octobers.

Oh , and , of course , whenever he played Dublin..........................

Um, okay.... :? 8)

I will try to have a good time anyway! I know what you mean though, I feel that way about the Boston crowd sometimes-- bunch of dowdsters that don't want anything that's not spoon-fed to them.

SLL
BWAP
Otis
Doof ??
Dr. J.??

So far that's six men, and me. Just how I like it!! 8)

One of y'all will have to just let me know where and when we're meeting-- there's still plenty of time but I've got a whole trip to plan, all that dreaded pre-vacation work-stress, and shingles to moan about, so just keep me in the loop, once there is one in which to be kept... :D

The Hammersmith Ram is close to the Apollo - and gets better reviews than most of the other pubs in the area - can't vouch for it myself - the only pub I've been to in Hammersmith was a place called The George across from the tube station - very average food, very average atmosphere.

Looks like a good choice, BWAP. Shall we all meet there? 6? A little ahead of 6, even? Will get horribly full by 7, should think, but 6 should be fine. better than the place Jackson and I went to, I'd say, which was a loud bar, not a pub. Dunno if he's coming this time. And as for Gilli! It's going to be a beautiful night.

6pm at the Hammersmith Ram sounds OK to me.

Who knows Muggy - it may even have an alleyway

Thunderbird or K cider will be fine. Failing that lack of class, Special Brew or Tennents Super Extra should do the trick!

Yep...I'll be there and hope to be in the Ram around 6 if I can. I'll certainly be there for a couple of pints at least.

Looking forward to meeting you all.... :D 8)
