Cosmos -

I read that they wrote it for Otis Redding - but not that it was rejected, rather Otis died before he could record it. I love the Flying Burrito Brothers version and it sounds like it was written for Gram Parsons. beautiful song.

Correct, BWAP....can't get anything by you. I heard on one of these syndicated radio shows that Otis passed on recording it, but anything is possible.

And yes, the Gram Parsons version is gorgeous, isn't it?

Good job...I'm very impressed!!

Oh, I so love Gram Parsons' version. Must listen to it again.

That's my mate Ian Hart! He also played Lennon in The Hours and Times.

I'm quite sure it was Rick Wakeman.

Unless it was Elvis Costello. But I spose you mean while still a recording artist on Stiff.... I wouldn't have guessed they even overlapped.

Sorry - no they didn't overlap - most definitely a former Stiff artist. Not Elvis.

Tougher than I thought. Yes, the artist is in that list Martin. A couple of clues - the artist covered an EC song, also covered a Graham Parker song. Did not appear as themself on Seinfeld, rather they played a character.

The Earl is correct. She played George's cousin Shelly in the famous "contest" episode.

Great question, Earl, except maybe it crosses the line between trivia and obscure. Any chance you could tell us the answer and give us an easier question?

Good point.

The answers were:
June Tabor
-- "All This Useless Beauty", "I Want To Vanish" and "Rumours Of War"
Norma Waterson
-- "The Birds Will Still Be Singing" and "St Swithin's Day"
Kind of Like Spitting
-- "Welcome To The Working Week" and "Little Time Bomb"

I'm drawing a blank on a new question, so rather than hold up the thread,
I pass -- to whomever reads this first...

I've got one. On the back of Graham Parker's Squeezing Out Sparks (or on the sleeve; might depend on whether LP or CD) is a picture of a fun park. What is the name of the fun park and where is it located?
