I didnt really yawn at 'I Want You'. I yawned at the predictability of its place in the top 10. Hope i'm proved wrong!

Beyond Belief, Almost Blue and Lipstick Vogue for sure. I consulted my psychic friend.

that opening strum is one of the most pleasing sounds in the universe to me and it has been from day one. the relentlessness of the song, mirrored by the words all running together on the vinyl sleeve, has something to do with it. clever words. it is a perfect piece of work.

number 1 was only my guess, not necessarily my ranking, by the way.

BB would not make my top twenty but a lot of other folk rate it high.

Here is my analysis of Bambi's analysis.

I predict IWY to be no.1
Clubland will prob just miss out on top ten
Strict Time won't make the top 20
I would be surprised if Veronica, My Science.., Satellite or From aWhisper.. make the top 50
Accidents will be higher I think, probably top 20.

well there aren't many of us playing the silly prediction game, but here is another one: nothing from get happy will crack the top ten, but get happy will dominate 11-20 with 3-5 songs.

Can't offer Top 15. Here is top 5

Post by God's Comic »

It seems everybody is having more fun with predictions and North bashing than with list submission. What are we, the media and the Democratic primaries?

I've thought quite hard, and out of his whole catalog I only feel comfortable offering a top 5:

1: My Dark Life
2: Distorted Angel
3: Opportunity
4: Oliver's Army
5: Long Journey Home

That'll skew the current stats!

I wasn't really North bashing, I just feel that seeing as it's the latest album and thus has had the least time to be heard of all albums, and I think that it stands better as an album listened to in it's entirity rather than in parts, it won't appear in the top 50.

Maybe I'll be wrong...who knows. The songs on North are beautiful.

Goodbye Cruel World will mount a surprise comeback and snag 3 of the top 5 slots. I'm crossing my fingers for Only Flame in Town at #2 (just behind Broken).

the short list as of right now.

Beyond Belief
No Action
Riot Act
My Dark Life
Accidents Will Happen
Alison
I Want You
You Little Fool
You Tripped at Every Step
Toledo

yes, obviously i've not heard lotsa stuff. :) or i can't be bothered with choosing.

and Blue Chair isn't even on the list today, and a few months back i had to listen to it over and over again 'cause i loved it so. :)

Ok I know that I´m not a bigwig but these 15 songs made the cut...(looking at the ones that did´nt "make the cut", this seems absurd :D )

No particular order:

Men Called Uncle
God´s Comic
Watch Your Step
Big Sister´s Clothes
Sleep of the Just
Human Hands
Tears Before Bedtime (alt. version)
Blame it on Cain
Little Triggers
PLU
I´ll Wear it Proudly
Jacksons, Monk And Rowe
Indoor Fireworks
Shabby Doll
Man Out of Time

Close...so close, maybe tomorrow or yesterday they would be top 15:

B-Movie
You´ll Never be a Man
American Without Tears
Jack of All Parades
Suit of Lights
...And in Every Home
Accidents Will Happen
Chelsea
I Want You
Battered Old Bird
Why Can´t a Man Stand Alone
Complicated Shadows
15 Petals
Watching the Detectives
You Tripped At Every Step
All the Rage
