Hi,
There are messages in the logs that the server hosting The Board is getting too hot. The prime culprit for this is dust buildup so later today, I will be shutting down the server and vacuuming it.
Beyond that the other common causes are things like the fans not running. The server is getting old and will eventually need to be replaced but if vacuuming fixes this issue, it can wait a while longer. (I hope)

Re: Board Will Be Down For Maintenance Sunday Afternoon (CST)
Hi again.
The downtime was longer than I expected. The inside of the server was indeed dusty and the air intake on the power supply fan was mostly blocked. That went smoothly.
For those that don't know, The Board is running on a computer with the Fedora GNU/Linux operating system. When I rebooted, I noticed that the version was one which had been proclaimed "End of Life" earlier this month. This meant no more secutiry updates. So I upgraded from "Fedora 8" to "Fedora 9". I upgraded by downloading it over the net dynamically and with 1.6 GB to download, it took a while.
Fedora 9 will be supported for probably 6-9 months longer so I probably will need to upgrade to Fedora 10 sometime in the next few months.
This was just normal maintenance -- although more involved than I expected when I pulled out the vacuum.
