Hah! That's cos they changed it. A Chelsea fan friend alerted me to the fact that the two players they had standing there were Terry and Anelka! Priceless. No wonder they've changed it now...

Ugh. Got stuffed 5-1 by Chicago. What a colossally shitty football week for me.

Re: Wake up you footy fans!!!
At least it wasn't an arbitrary loss on pks.
That's the best face I can put on it. WTF is up with this team? Jozy has ingrown toenails? Jozy's too tired from all the traveling? Jozy's a whineybutt? I'm worried about JPA's whatever it is - the word 'degenerative' was used, and that can't be good. We degenerate rather rapidly even when he's out there. But fear not! For I have been shopping, and when I'm wearing my new t shirt (thank you, stimulus check - well, I got a washing machine too), we'll win.

I am always willing to take one for the team.![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Well, if you can't play good, look good. (Learn grammar later).

of course, he kinda looks like a knock-kneed kindergartner, but he's still cute. would somebody drop a cinder block on Wayne Rooney's head already? that would take away some of the sting.

USA were shite. Becks provides England with threat again. Nice to see four Champions League 2008 winners in the starting line-up. Lampard still looking like he can't play on a pitch with Gerrard. Terry makes up for last week!

Re: Wake up you footy fans!!!
Not a good performance, but we had a few key players missing. Josh Wolff shouldn't even be wearing a USA shirt, much less starting against England at Wembley. We have Spain and Argentina next. It'll be interesting to see if we can improve upon that performance. I'd certainly hope so.Otis Westinghouse wrote:USA were shite.

ESPN showed the highlights yesterday and commented on Terry making up for his miss last week....only they said he was playing for Arsenal!

Altidore's off to Villarreal for $10 million. I knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any easier. Hasta la vista Jozy!

We only get a 500K allocation for immediate use in July. But we can use some of the other cash we get to land a new designated player this winter once that useless lump Reyna limps off into the sunset.mood swung wrote:Well, go Jozy! Not the best football song, but yes, Polska, Polska, Come on Poland! Drew them in the sweepstake and if they get into the semis I get £10 and £50 if they win!!!
Meanwhile, in Scouseland it's all about Spain. Seen this, PoP? It's a classic! Adios, la!

That version doesn't link! It's:

It's lovely! I love their conversation (including Ribery's stray 'Yes!'), and dedication to pursuing the most absurd goal-scoring position.

Cute.
My new RB t-shirt comes in the mail Wednesday, we win 1-0 (sans Jozy) Thursday. Coincidence? I think not.

What can I say ....... ?
We played much better than two years ago in World Cup, but it still wasn't enough for the Germans. The only bright side is that both Croatia and Austria did not show anything special in the afternoon game, so there is still hope for Poland.

Re: Wake up you footy fans!!!
Impressions from the USA-Argentina friendly match last night. It finished in a 0-0 draw, but it was a great great game. Lots of chances and saves on both ends, some really nice attacking play.
First, the crowd. The place was absolutely packed to the gills. Such a nice change from your average Red Bulls match. Lots of Argentina supporters of course - both people with Argentinian blood and sad posers - but also great support for the USA. From what I could tell we outsung the Argies, but maybe it just seemed that way because I was sitting down toward the Sam's Army end. When the rain broke out in the second half it really got wild and it was just a great experience. My buddy Tom had his "Don't Tread on Me" flag...
![Image](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3f/Naval_Jack_of_the_United_States.svg/230px-Naval_Jack_of_the_United_States.svg.png)
The game. We really got burned on the break a few times early and Tim Howard saved our bacon again and again. But then we came back into it a bit and had a few chances in the first half. Eddie Johnson is an incredibly frustrating player. He gets into good positions, but wastes chances over and over again. One positive was that Landon Donovan was getting stronger and stronger as the game went along. I don't know what happened with the sendings off (dissent I imagine), but things got really interesting after that and Freddy Adu made some nice runs that caused the Argies some problems. If only that shot by Kljestan hadn't been blocked we might have even walked away with a win.
In any case, I'm exhausted, the parking situation did suck (an hour to get out of there), but it was a fantastic experience. 78,000+ fans totally into it. A great sign for soccer in this country.
