Hear this - for free

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Radio Nowhere by Bruce, from the new album

http://music.guardian.co.uk/news/story/ ... 92,00.html

Some say it's a bit similiar to Warren Zevons Splendid Isolation
Judge for yourself from this great Letterman clip

I'm waiting until I get the album to hear that.

But the bossmania doesn't abate - this site has the legendary 7-7-78 Roxy show in full still available, and more. Great stories once again.

Calling all Elf fans! M. Ward is putting out a collaborative album with Zooey Deschanel (who others might know from Almost Famous, Bridge to Terabithia or Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy), and a lovely track has surfaced from the album entitled "Sentimental Heart." You can hear it here (http://theplaylist.blogspot.com/2008/01 ... ue-in.html) along with some tracks the pair recorded live on a radio show back in July. Their Volume One album comes out in March under the name She And Him.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Gotta get that. I just watched Bridge to Terabithia with the family earlier this week. Why didn't I ever have a music teacher like that? :?

go to http://www.daptonerecords.com click on "jukebox" and download the free sampler, Binky Griptite's Ghetto Funk Power Hour. If you love 60s and early 70s soul, it's essential. I got a copy free with Sharon Jones & The DapKings newest. I hate samplers, usually I scan them once and dump them if nothing jumps out, but this is one of my favorite records of last year period, the whole sampler is so much fun.

Found this site with a review of all of the mighty Lloyd Cole's work on it, and best of all, downloads of loads of rare tracks off CD singles I've never even heard, e.g. cover of Children of the Revolution. I have all his LPs and many bootlegs, but not all the rarities, so this is just great.

Guardian tip for free download of Amplive's remixes of 7 pieces off Radiohead's In Rainbows with various artistes performing. Quite an amusing story.

For those not inclined to read, the download link is:

4 mins to download. Nice companion piece to the brilliant original.

I suppose this could also go here for people who aren't usually paying much attention to EC these days (what with his kissing Sting's arse, and everything), which is perfectly understandable... :

Most boots I've heard from the period sounds more or less the same but this performance by EC & TAs, at a radio station in Minneapolis on Valentines Day '78, I found interesting because EC has a problem with his guitar early on (broken guitar string I think, but, even when he tries to fill the sound out a bit with a few limited embellishments, the guitar sounds seem very low in the mix), causing Steve and Bruce to improvise unusually. WTD sounds very cool this way, and it's weird to not hear it with the famous riff dominating. Less Than Zero is the Dallas version, too, predating El Mocambo by a couple of months.
