London meet up - August 11, 2007

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

London meet up - August 11, 2007

Post by BlueChair »

The rumours are true. RedShoes and I will be visiting London as part of our honeymoon on August 11-13. verbal gymnastics and I have decided that Saturday August 11 is the ideal date to go with, and he suggested 4 PM as a start time so we can visit a pub AND an Indian restaurant.

There are no details besides that at this point, but I wanted to announce this early so as many people can ensure their attendance as possible.

So. Who's in!?!?!?!?!?
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

We're away from the 9th to 18th - otherwise I would have been there - feel bad I'm missing it.
Everyone just needs to fuckin’ relax. Smoke more weed, the world is ending.

It's quality that counts Red, not quantity

Can't make it myself either, I was in London yesterday and if you would like a tip on Indian Restaurants may I suggest Drummond Rd to the right when leaving Euston Station a fine selection to choose from we ate at a Vegetarian one fantastic food and left stuffed . You can smell the spices before turning into the road, have a good trip.

We need to decide a place to meet.

As an opening suggestion, how about meeting at the Garrick Arms in Charing Cross Road at 4pm?

It's very easy to get to and easy to go on to other places from.

I spoke to Sulky Lad last night and he can make it now too! And if anyone is toying with coming then I should remind you that Sulky Lad usually brings EC related gifts...

To save a lot of to-ing and fro-ing shall we go with my suggestion of meeting at the Garrick Arms at 4pm and we can take it from there.

I received a message from Neil. last night to say he can't make it as he'll be in Wales.

I'll try and avoid the inevitable sheep gags but I can't guarantee anything

I had a very enjoyable afternoon with Blue, Red and SoLack.

We had a few beers in the Garrick Arms and then went for a curry opposite which was very good.

Unfortunately after our curry Blue and Red had to go (they blamed tiredness but I think it was the company  ). SoLack and myself went for a couple more beers before I was able to get a train back at 9.50pm. I got a taxi and got to my local at 10.30pm in time for a late drink 8) .

It was a pleasure to meet both Red and Blue and always good to catch up with SoLack. Thanks also to BWAP for the text to say that the next round was on him. BWAP - you owe me £11.50 (but I'll take £10 for cash  ).

I can guarantee it wasn't the company, Verbal - I think Blue was trying too hard to keep up with you guys ;)

I don't know how you do it - 4 pints before dinner (on an empty stomach, no less), and it doesn't seem to phase you!

(photos over in the Photo Gallery, btw!)

Yes, a nice afternoon/evening, always nice to meet anybody new from the board. I hope you two enjoy the rest of your honeymoon uninterrupted by geezers in their 40s who like to sup beer on empty stomachs. Mind you Red, you put away a fair amount away yourself. Blue's "jet lag" really caught up with him, I hope he got a good night's sleep.

I think this is a polite way of saying I talk rubbish before and after I've had a drink

I agree. My kind of girl (metaphorically speaking of course).

I hope we get the chance to meet up again.
