A right of passage for most adolescents-including this one- and an admitted influence on two personal favorites- Roth and Updike- as they developed their fictional voices- a truly magnificent user of irony.

Not a big fan, except for some of the short stories, but we can't let the funny boys in The Onion have the last word. Dude was crazy but...

But the crazy people are always interesting. I was pleased and vaguely depressed (because The Pile grows ever larger) to find that I hadn't read EVERYTHING. So, I look forward (sorta) to some cool compilations.
