Could be. I haven't found any typos yet. This was apparently a freebie to people who pre-ordered Yours, Mine & Ours from the PB website a few years ago. I had to pay for mine.

I also got the new FF today, have played it twice through, and it is good. I didn't think much of the single the first couple times I heard it either but it has grown, the album is instantly likeable. Got the bonus DVD with mine and a free FF megaphone.

I decided the DVD version was ignorable. Not the same draw that the live CD was with FF1. Isn't it mostly just the single vid, and a bit about them and not much else? unlike the Prairie Wind DVD, which has Neil playing the entire LP live, natch. I'm too excited with my four new CDs to play anything. Musical paralysis. Fear of music. Do You Want Me? annoyed me too, but it has been in and out of my head. Take Me Out remains my favourite of FF1, though. I think it's the opening. It's one of my favourite single openings ever. they were on the Culture Show on BBC last night, and cos it's a serious arts prog, in the BBC2 tradition, they were talking about influences on them. Bass boy went for The Fall, or was it drummer boy with the wayward teeth? Alex went for Queen. He said you're either going to look like you don't really wanna be up there, like Dinosaur Jr, or you're gonna embrace it to the max like Freddie. Don't Stop Me Now is a favourite of his, as it is mine. I totally go for the full-on rampant approach of it, and love that exuberance in FF's sound.

OK, Magic Numbers are up first, cos I've got their singles in my head.

No-one dig Elbow? They remain quite obscure, despite getting reviews as ravey as those of fellow Mancs Doves. Another band in the downbeat but widescreen Manc tradition, the city that can always be relied on for cultural genius, but often more subtle musically. Would like to see them live. Will report back.

I have Cast Of Thousands which is quite good. Grand and symphonic, with that gospel-like chorus in places. "Fugitive Motel" my favorite tune from that one. Let me know what you think about the new album. As you said, the reviews have been very positive.

Eek, I don't know. About 10,000 songs, but I've got a whole bunch of jazz and classical that I'm not counting. Some of those songs have been, um, borrowed from friends and relatives, so it's not as ugly as it sounds. iTunes tells me I could put my collection on shuffle and it wouldn't repeat for 25 days and change.

If you think that's bad, you should meet my friend Tony. Granted, he's a music critic, but he has an entire library plus a hallway lined with CDs - all arranged perfectly on beautiful built-in wooden shelves. Then there's all of the vinyl stuff he owns. Every time we visit he tries to unload review copies of various things on us - mostly classical.

Mugster, and anyone else with the new FF CD and iTunes (especially if in UK): does You Could... open for you in iTunes? This is the first CD I've ever had this problem with, it just ejects it. It's not even that it won't import it, it won't even play it. Absurd. What are they up to? It isn't copy protected (unlike Magic Numbers, which is fine in it). Plays OK on CD players, so I assume this is intentional. Grrrrrr.

Loving Magic Numbers. Depth and beauty in spadeloads on this LP. They's playing the smaller of Cambridge's two venues (The Junction) in a week or so. Must have been booked before they played lots of festivals, got on TV loads, got famous for walking out on TOTP, had two cracking singles. Sadly it sold out long ago, so I can't go. They could easily sell out the much larger Corn Exchange (as Bloc Party have tonight, I think I saw their singer at the train station last night), and it's a surprise they haven't tried to move the gig.

Neil Young sounded a bit predictable. More Silver and Gold than Harvest Moon, and certainly nothing as immediate as the title track of that or Unknown Legend, but those are two highlights in the cannon, so I shouldn't expect too much. I guess the story of his brain problem and then heading off to Nashville before surgery gives it all an immense poignancy, and probably many of the simple sounding songs will get inside my head in the weeks to come, but the 'third in a trilogy with Harvest and Harvest Moon' adverts are crap, and whoever it was said 'his best since Sleeps With Angels' makes me think how that was a real pinnacle he seems unlikely to scale again. I never heard Greendale, couldn't face it. The four-star reviews Prairie Wing has been getting seem a little exagerrated, led me to expect to be blown away on first listening. Oh well.

I didn't have a problem with it. How very fucking annoying. The only thing I can think is that it's one of those disks that comes with its own software (I have had a few of those, ugh) and your Mac is not seeing/liking it? I'd take/send it back.

Any UK comments??

Hmmm, got it from CD-WOW, who ship from Hong Kong (very quickly, arrived after three days, £8.75). The Domino website is so crap it doesn't even list the new LP, so I couldn't find out about whether there is more than one edition of it available here (can't believe there would be, other than with/without DVD), but a site I came across when trying to find info on this issue seemed to indicate there might.

I have a Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra rather than an iPod, but it seems to be ripping fine.

I had no problems ripping this to iTunes. Otis, you wouldn't happen to have the DualDisc version of this, would you (with the DVD audio on the other side)? I read on another forum that some people were having trouble getting it to import to iTunes.

I managed to get a sneak listen to some of Weller's new album (As Is Now)....it really is very promising.....far better than the dirgey dad rock of his last few albums and I will very definitely be buying it tomorrow on the strength of the half dozen tracks I've heard so far. Good reviews as well.

Weller back on form is a really great feeling..I thought his best days were long behind him.
