A lifelong dream of mine is about to come true....I'm gonna host my own weekly music radio show on a new community radio station here in Nashville. It will be two or three hours, and it will be streamed on the net. So I'm taking song requests.....
A bit more about it....it'll be an all-genre show. You may hear Elvis, Miles Davis, the Zombies, Ravi Shankar, Robert Johnson, North Mississippi All-Stars, and Barber's "Adagio for Strings" all in one hour.
There will also be a musician/band in studio for an interview and/or live performance each show. I'll take submissions from unsigned artists as well, and if I dig them, they'll be played. So spread the word to your musician friends....if you want my address, pm me.
The station has been tremendously supportive of my idea, and I'm very grateful to them.
I'm also accepting ideas for a name for my show.....

Not sure where it'll be streaming yet.....I will definitely let you know.
Funny thing you mentioned Mr. Prine...I work next to Oh Boy Records, and I talked to one of their people about getting some of their artists on the show. Todd Snider was mentioned. Of course, the big prize would be to get Prine himself on the show, but that's a dream and many broadcasts away, I think. I've also tried to find contact info for Nick Lowe, should he ever venture to Nashville again.
I like your title idea too....thanks! Other title suggestions I've received:
High Fidelity
Let the Music Do the Talking
Music Makes the World Go 'Round

I'm not known as Cosmos here, but I like Cosmosis as a title...
El Vez...I haven't heard Dan Reeder's debut. But that's why I'm taking requests. The whole idea behind the show is to musically enlighten and be musically enlightened. I hope to discover a wealth of music I've never heard before through this. I will add the Reeder album to my list of "to-buys."

Wanna hear! Lucky you, sounds great, and so eclectic. So, with this in mind:
JS Bach - a cello suite
Lloyd Cole - something off Love Story
John Coltrane - an alternative take off CD2 of Love Supreme
The Jam - something off All Mod Cons
Tom Waits - Cold, Cold Ground
The Band - Whispering Pines
Bjork - Vespertine
Hope I can stream. It won'tbe archived for a brief while too, will it, as they do on the BBC?

Otis....working on the archival part of it. My brother-in-law is a web site designer, so he's gonna advise me on what I should do.
I'll probably have my own site separate from the radio station, and if possible, archive the shows there. The in-studio interviews will definitely be archived.
Thanks to all of you so far....some great requests. As of right now, I can fulfill about 75 percent of them. So keep 'em coming!!

I'm not sure about the legality of archiving. I'm sure the station will know for sure, though.
The interview segments would be okay...I'd just have to have the artists' permission beforehand.
My brother-in-law said archiving each show would likely take up too much space, so I may just post playlists instead.
