What Albums have we bought just cause EC told us to?

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Elvis loves to recommend music, and we love to listen to him. A partial list:
Best of Mose Allison
Hissing of Summer Lawns: Joni Mitchell
Ron Sexsmith
Fire at Keaton's Grill: Roy Nathanson
Jazz Passengers: Individually Twisted

That 500 Albums You Need article proved very influencial towards my purchases. I have always been a firm believer that the best person to suggest music to listen to, is an artist you admire. And since Elvis' list contained a lot of albums I already knew and love, I figured some of it might be worth checking out, such as:

The Best Of Mose Allison
T-Bone Burnett - Proof Through The Night
Ian Dury - New Boots and Panties!!
Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks - Last Train To Hicksville.. The Home To Happy Feet
Roland Kirk - The Inflated Tear
Roy Nathanson - Fire At Keaton's Bar & Grill
Randy Newman - Sail Away, Good Old Boys
Laura Nyro - Gonna Take A Miracle
Sam Phillips - Martinis & Bikinis
Squeeze - East Side Story

And I haven't been let down by any of them :D
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

That's some I forgot: Sam Phillips (3 albums) and T-Bone (2 albums). In fact, T-bone's The Criminal Under My Own Hat is one of my faves.

Got The Hissing Of Summer Lawns as well, and got The Very Best of The Meters because I think he mentioned them. Also, a Solomon Burke album - The Definition Of Soul. Indirectly, London Calling after the grammy performance (replaced vinyl).

More EC picks: Aaron Neville; Dusty Springfield's Memphis album; Duke Ellington's "And his Mother Called him Bill"; Ron Sexsmith; Sinatra's "Only the Lonely". In the early 80s: PreFab Sprout; Aztec Camera; Paul Young; and George Jones singing "Hank Williams' Greatest Hits".

I really got into Roddy Frame on the back of EC's recommendation. As an impressionable 20 yo, I didn't think I liked Springsteen....An Elvis interview persuaded me to try Tunnel of Love and Nebraska - now I'm a big fan.
