I agree with Sulky

I fully intend to boycott the London book signing event.

...and fully intend to reverse this principled stance if the aforesaid rocks up in Liverpool :D :D :D

I'd be very surprised if there isn't a show in Liverpool. I reckon there'll also be something in Glasgow, Dublin and Cardiff.

Interesting that you get the book included in the ticket price. Given the price is $38, that kind of equates to the English price of £20. I wonder if the book is included with the more expensive tickets for the London show. Or (unfairly) not at all.

So booked RFH (scene of many a memorable EC gig) for what I'm guessing will be an evening of extended between song banter...with no songs. That'll be odd.

I think a guitar will make an appearance - even if to illustrate songs.

It's gone from that link. I guess it was meant to be a 'under the radar' promo thing until someone on Twitter - not me! - spotted it.

Nadine O'Regan in today's Sunday Business Post (Dublin) includes the book in a preview of books for Autumn. The '83 reference is , I daresay, meant to be a ironic reference to EDIWTB.

on the basis of what I heard it'll be an interesting read, but a difficult listen - EC could have done with a bit more action in his delivery (man)..

:D :D :D

Yes, have to say (if I'm being hyper critical) I thought his reading was a little too self conscious, similar to how he delivers lines when he's acting or doing Simpson's voices or whatever (there I go being hyper critical again and ready to tell Elvis just how he should best do things, so I'd best shut up before he hears me).

Another fan site nit picked about the way he pronounced Phil Lynott's second name. Elvis said 'lie-not' whereas most say 'lin-not'. Here in Dublin it's a depends on what side of the Liffey you live, 'lie' being general to the south & the other to the north. Elvis hung out mostly on the south side so he seems to have instinctively gone with what he may have heard the most.

Hmm....will we be having discussions about every syllable of the audio edition? ☺☺

Mmmmm.......looks like there's still chance that he could pop up to Liverpool either side, either side of London Town :D Here's hoping.......

I thought the same when I saw those dates,
and also hope he's keeping the evening of the 10th October free so he can come to see Steve sing his songs at the Phil and bring the house down with a final encore of "Happy Birthday to Sulky"
[insert appropriately v.hopeful and excited face ]
