Ms. Mug did a fine job but omitted a few tunes. It was a very generous set! My version of the setlist is as follows: 1. 45 2. Green Shirt 3. Home Truth 4. No Wonder 5. The Long Honeymoon 6. This House Is Empty Now 7. Pills and Soap 8. You Left Me in the Dark 9. Someone Took the Words Away 10. You Tu...

I absolutely loved this movie and was repulsed by the casual brutality in the lives it portrayed at the same time. It's unique, involving, highly innovative and I recommend it highly!

Some people (not me, of course) sell such things on eBay. http://www.ebay.com Search on "Elvis Costello," then click on "music" and see what pops up. If you see something you like, put in a bid. Remember you're buying from individuals, so be sure to look at their "feedback&q...

Re: It was 25 years ago today...Armed Forces misremembered

(What’s so funny ‘bout) Peace, Love and Understanding - The albums high-water mark, revisited and revived by Bill Murray in the 2003 film, "Lost In Translation." The only song not written by Costello - it was written by producer Nick Lowe and intended for his own band. In fact, Lowe recor...

That's a very fine review from the Tampa paper, with an apt appreciation of some of the many wonderful advantages of seeing the Man perform. Of course, I give props to any article about EC which omits the word "punk" and includes nary a mention of not being angry anymore . . . . . There's ...

Beat the Retreat is reet neat, I always say (or until it becomes awfully repetitive and too boring for words). I bought it basically for Graham's track and David Byrne's "Just the Motion," but it's chock full of goodies, like Bonnie Raitt's "When the Spell Is Broken" with the am...

I keep hoping (probably in vain) for an expanded Costello & Nieve reissue. Since all the dates on the tour were recorded, there has to be plenty of material not included in the boxed set. There would be alternate versions certainly, but there are probably songs that didn't appear on any of the 5...

Atlanta, Philadelphia and Boston dates have been added, as well as the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee. There are a couple of gaps in the schedule, and nothing is listed from mid-April to mid-June, so I think more cities will be announced soon.

New Dylan dates announced

The Endless Tour goes on. Dates for the 2004 winter-spring phase have been announced, and since some of our intrepid board members might be interested, here's the link for details: http://bobdylan.com/live The dates announced so far are in Tulsa, St. Louis, Chicago (3/5-7 at three different venues),...

I'm no defender of Fox News, which is not worthy of being called a news network IMHO. We report you decide my ass! So no, I'm not shocked by such tripe from them. I haven't commented because I haven't the facts about what Gilligan (really, Gilligan?) did say. Just don't call anything Fox puts on the...

That particular deathmatch isn't likely, but you could still see blood on the floor if Kilborn tries any of his "witty banter" on Elvis. Our man will eviscerate him. The last time he was on, Craig didn't talk with him, and my advice would be to make the same choice. Just show the album, me...

This show comes on after Letterman tonight, at approximately 12:35 EST (check your local listings). If you plan on taping it rather than being in/staying up to watch, set the VCR for an extra long session. There will be a segment of approximately 20 minutes, then CBS will cut away for 15 minutes of ...

2. Bush drops Cheney from the ticket (citing health concerns as the reason). 3. Bush replaces Cheney with either a)Rudy Giuliani or b)Condoleeza Rice. I liked Runaway Jury too. It's no classic of course, but it would be hard for any film with Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman and John Cusack as the leads to suck.

I'm not quite sure I understand the question, but it never hurts to mention Adrian Belew's name anyway. I think his Zappa apprenticeship was post-Mothers, but it preceded his stints with Bowie, Talking Heads, Laurie Anderson and King Crimson.
