Re: Elvis & The Imposters, Hammersmith Apollo, London, June 23, 2022

Sounds like a good night, despite the talkers! The only way to stop that is for the artist to request that the venue closes the bars during the show, but that happens very infrequently in my experience. There's no way a venue would want to give up that much potential profit. Sadly it seems like conc...

Just as a heads up there's another train strike on today which may also affect the Tube in London.

Re: Elvis & The Imposters, The Forum, Bath, June 17, 2022

Thanks for posting, pretty fair review sums up my experience fairly well. Keep thinking about the venue & sound issues. I know nothing about these things, but I do wonder if it makes a difference that the sound desk was at the side of the stage and not at the back of the stalls as you see in so ...

Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .

Don't know if anyone on here listens to Radcliffe & Maconie on BBC 6music - "Tiny Steps" was played on yesterday's show (Sunday 19th) as part of the Teatime Theme Time. Must be pretty rare to hear that one on the radio!

The support is genuinely worth seeing. He seemed to go down very well with the Elvis crowd in Bath. Worth seeing just for the keyboard solo! :D

Re: Elvis & The Imposters, The Forum, Bath, June 17, 2022

Yes that is a fair point about the vocal mic. It was noticeable that when Elvis switched to the 2nd (distorting) mic, which he did quite a lot, you could hear his voice much better. My partner was just a bit disappointed that she couldn’t hear Steve very clearly in the mix, as she’s a big fan. Maybe...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters, The Forum, Bath, June 17, 2022

I went! On the whole I enjoyed the show, despite the rather muddy sound mix which spoilt some songs. The Clockface songs sound great played by the Imposters, they were a highlight for me, as was a clearly unrehearsed and spontaneous Radio Radio which took everyone by surprise including the band I th...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters, New Theatre, Oxford, June 16, 2022

It's weird isn't it, sometimes I look at some people at gigs and wonder why they bothered to show up when they look so disinterested. The tickets weren't exactly cheap! The tour is billed under "The Boy Named If" and not a greatest hits tour..

Re: Liverpool Philharmonic Hall 10 June 2022

Wow sounds like an eventful gig to say the least! Epic setlist though
Sadly this sounds typical of a lot of the shows I’ve attended since Lockdown ended. People have forgotten how to behave at gigs. The lack of respect shown towards performers and fellow audience members is appalling..

Let's hope so! I've still got very fond memories of the Roundhouse gig in 2016 when he opened with "Big Tears" and went on to play "Moods For Moderns" and "Sunday's Best". Threw me a massive curveball there!

Yep I’m going with the Mrs! It’s a beautiful venue for those who haven’t been before. Old Art Deco cinema looks a bit like Hammersmith Odeon inside. If you’re driving parking in the Southgate Centre is £2.50 all night after 6pm. Cheapest option by far in Bath! We’ve booked the first 2 seats in Row G...
