I think SLL's night of passion is sweet and lovely. That's what I'd want to happen. I'll be heading there a month before you, Spooky! I'd do something you've always wanted to do and never managed. Whether it's a place, a brilliant meal, a slightly dangerous sporting activity, or, hey, something in t...

I'm with the Plaything on Bjork. Post is a corker. The bass register is so heavy that my normally solid car speakers just can't handle it. I don't know Homogenic, but want to, sounds great. It's curious that the Greatest Hits doesn't contain It's Oh So Quiet - presumably her biggest hit, here at lea...

My vote seems to have been cast without me doing it. Can it read my text for me? Wow - smart software!

How do I vote in the poll? Am missing something. You Little Fool is my favourite of these. Just a fantastic song. Human Hands a pretty close second. Pidgin English is probably my least favourite on the LP. It's still good, and least fave on IB sis anyone else's awesome, but wel behind the other two.

With Moz fanatics all over the world, that doesn't surprise me a bit. Hope you can get to see it, IH, it's well worth it. I've been feeling happy all day as a result. There were so many great quotes. One of the very best: Australian woman who won a competition to meet Moz years ago but never availed...

The Importance of Being Morrissey

I'm still recovering from the pleasure and privilege of seeing the above stunning documentary on Channel 4. I hope everyone in these isles saw it, and that everyone in the US, Chile, France, Mar del Plata and everywhere else gets to see it. For anyone with a passing interest in Moz or more, this was...

Is he famous (again) all of a sudden? Lloyd selling out in London?!? Doesn't tally with having played The Junction in Cambridge on the last tour (a venue either for up and comings who haven't yet made the grade, or has-beens). Wow, I'm impressed. Maybe it was after the Jonathan Ross show... Was it T...

Was thinking of this myself, but not sure I can make it. I'm cursing myself for missing him in Cambridge, as I've said. Am reappraising DGWOMB. It's kind of growing oin me. Maybe I never gave it enough of a chance in the first place, and was probably not well disposed the other night. Or are you and...

Screen width

This site is fanTAZtic, but the lovely 5 LP covers up above seem to be stretching the screen to impossibly wide, making reading reading messages, the index, etc., a real chore (on my Mac, at least). Could we just have two of them (on a rotating basis, perhaps)? Thank you kindly.

Anyone see Bob and Marcia sing that very song on Later last night? Weren't they cool. Such a great song. I was a bit disappointed by Martina Topley Bird. I wanted to be blown away after the Observer feature on her, and though I liked the voice, I was struggling to find anything interesting in it. ap...

Thanks, oh Doofy one. I read 'bout that on the official site. It's quite endearing the way it's his own personal site. he seems very enthusiastic about it. It also said he was on TOTP2 this week solo with guitar. Actually, it said yesterday, but his disclaimer was that was the recording day, so it w...

Which are suspect, oh Pet? Looks pretty cool to me. Actually, not far off its best. Only regret is some of the brilliant Bowie songs that could have been there instead of AS, but what the fuck, nice Mike Garson piano, and he's still playing with Bowie. Yeah, it was a good month too long.

OGWT

Another chance to see the wonderful Robert Wyatt performance of Shipbuilding on The Old Grey Whistle Test selection this evening. It was on in that series of highlights a while back. Very nice indeed. I love seeing his little leg waggle madly as he sings so intensely with his eyes closed. Nice piano...

Sounds like heaven. I would have to add The Parting Glass, as sung in Chicago as a tribtute to the parting Derek Bell. You choose where it goes, though of course it's a leavetaking song, so belongs at the very end. I think I would leave throughly mindblown after that.

Thin Lizzy - they were big! Boys Are Back in Town on ads and Toy Story 2 rejuvenated interest. I wouldn't say they get played much, but there' always been something cool about them. I think Live and Dangerous helped a lot there. Like man at the time, I played it to death in my teen bedroom. Rosalie ...

2003 or 2004? Joking. I guess it's run its course...

This means a late night for the East Coasters and an early morning for the Brits and the Irish!

If you hadn't praised Hyperballad (my choice, natch), I would be getting at you for ditching BTR - just played the whole LP which I had never heard until Saturday, and it's fabulous. And When You're Young is one of my favourite singles ever, perfect to be 15 to. Aladdin Sane is so not Dave's best, b...

The Boss - Born To Run Jesus, enforced Sussudio at work has to be illegal. Time for a pickett! Enforced anything would drive me mad, that's what headphones are for. Chinatown! I love it. OK, you gotta type 'utilitarian bunny' in on Google, and see where it takes you. It's surreal. She assures me it's a coincidence, which seems too improbable. My suspicion is that someone on that site is an Elvis/Bunny fan. PS I am not a stalker, honest. Just wanted to know if I could find an origin ...

Dr J: damn, I bought AS on CD only a couple of years ago, not having had it in the house since I was a teenager - I sold it to someone for some unfathomable reason, and just kept the inner sleeve with the lyrics on - so can't justify getting that beauty. So I am very, very jealous. I played it so mu...

Dang, unlike the old site, if you click a link from your email to a thread and reply, it doesn't make you register first, hence the Guest bollocks.
