Was there anything you really wanted to ask Bill Clinton when he was a guest on Spectacle, but couldn't, because, well, he's Bill Clinton? Lars LJ, via email No. It wasn't a political interview, he'd agreed to talk about music, but the interview was shot while he was working on Hillary's campaign t...

Re: The Magnificent Octopus

first impression: better than secret sugarcane, reverse river and momofuku - which all i didn't like. this one is listenable. the vocal delivery, as already observed by others, is more moderate and controlled, there is no obsessive, petulant overemoting - which is good and helps the record. lots of ...

not very tough, i just tried to choose the ones that seem to be the most celebrated or the ones you find on the greatest hits, and such.

be it a case or a biased selection, my favourite ballads are probably among the nine chosen...

which one?

or if it's not in the list, what else?

Re: elvis's lines that you like\dislike the most.

Hey, IM, your song of the century remark stumped me. I took a look and on some list compiled in 2001, Imagine came in at number 30 in the "song of the century" category. Neat list. It came in ahead of rudolph the red nosed reindeer. Here's the list. It's quite long. I'm only including the ...

dunno if it's self-directed too, but it's a good one anyway:

we're all hypocrites. buying elvis's cd's while some people are starving somewhere.

and i think that imagine is a silly song, overall.

in fact, it's so silly that i prefer silly love songs.
