Tickets for sale; London Palladium 14/05/16
Hi, I bought two tickets for this show a while back but now the cost of trains from Glasgow and hotel accommodation is proving to be a challenge. They are for Saturday 14th May, the last night at the Palladium. They're for row D in the Royal Circle, right in the middle, so they will be excellent. I'...

Re: Detour Live At Liverpool Philharmonic Hall: cinema release, Oct. 2015
There were, I think, 9 people in the Glasgow audience last night, although one lady left after about half an hour. I thought it was pretty good and a decent representation of the show. However, I thought Elvis's voice took a long time to get going. Although I have a ticket for one of the Palladium s...

I pre-ordered with cd-wow ages ago and only today received an email telling me it had been despatched, with a delivery time of between 4 and 10 working days.
I won't be using them again!

Re: Elvis & The Imposters Edinburgh 16/6/2013
It was indeed a fantastic show and the choice of songs was brilliant for devotees, if less so for the casual listener. Elvis is an excellent MC and the Imposters were on top form. My wife, who has seen Elvis a bunch of times over the years, was less impressed with the format and thought the show wou...

Here's a 4 star review from Stephen Dalton in The Times... Looking and sounding like Eric Morecambe’s impish rock-star nephew, Elvis Costello revealed his hitherto untapped talents as a music-hall comedian at the first British date of his Revolver tour. Based on a live format from the veteran post-...

Re: Elvis/Imposters, Glasgow, May 11 '12
From Monday's Glasgow herald, Keith Bruce reviews the Glasgow and Manchester gigs, giving them 5 stars. READERS will want to know just how much variety there is in the reinvention of the Golden Age of Variety that is The Revolver Tour, in which the Spectacular Spinning Songbook, which allows audienc...

I'll be there on Friday getting some Glasgow tickets for Elvis show No 38. Might hang fire though, waiting for a chance to buy a "premium" ticket, for £100, with free plectrum, signed copy of the autobiography and a place in the lucky dip for one of Elvis's used towels.

It better not be just England! I"ll never forget a Spinning Songbook show at the Playhouse in Edinburgh many years ago and can't wait to do it again. Would love to throw a few shapes in the go-go cage this time too.

I'm a fan of this show, they never include the songs played by guests in the podcast for copyright reasons. However, they normally do put the sessions onto their website later.

Re: Later with Jools Holland 29-10-10
It was a really great show tonight, with McCartney doing superb versions of "Jet" and "Band on the Run" to promote the re-release of that album. Neil Diamond did a nice acoustic band version of "I'm A Believer" and then Elvis, with just his guitar and a friend on double...

Re: Elvis & The Sugarcanes, Glasgow (UK), July 2, 2010
Basically, there's always a shout for Psycho in Glasgow; I think it's a tradition now and the band played it really well. The versions of "I Want You" and "Oliver's Army" were on fairly traditional acoustic terms and were great to hear. I thought the acoustics not too great and E...

Re: When was your first Elvis gig?
The first of my 37 gigs was at the Satellite City in Glasgow in March '78. This was a small hall above the famous Apollo Theatre at the top of Renfield St. I can't remember too much about it, except that the view was terrible and the sound deafening.

Arrived today from CDWOW and it really is great. Boy, did it take me back to that time when my mate used to get bootleg tapes in from the USA tours and copy them for me. It's just a wee bit annoying that they've been sitting on the tapes for over 30 years. This is the kind of project that should hav...

Re: Elvis plays with Brodsky Quartet, Glasgow, april 26, 2009
I am sure someone, perhaps the chap who was next to me, will post a setlist later on. Elvis was on good form in front of a less than full house and the Brodskys sounded just fine. Amusing incident just two songs in, with what sounded like an inebriated Glaswegian woman calling out, " I wanted t...
