Walk Like A Man - Bruce Springsteen. Thought of putting on Working On A Dream but it's really nowhere near as good as much on Tunnel Of Love except for maybe Spare Parts, even though WOAD is probably the best thing on the same-titled album. Shiny happy people - REM Like Simple Minds, I could never u...

Re: Unfaithful Music & Soundtrack album, Oct 2015
Nothing from Get Happy!! either except later bonus track Ghost Train. Funny he would include that and resist including something from GH!! proper. A bit of youtube digging however reveals that it has some significance for him related to his dad... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEOYV0kQY6w edit- oo...

Exactly... you understand! Like now they'd probably post Johnny B Goode... or, And She Was by Talking Heads if they like to pretend they're a bit hip... you know the type... Johnny Bye Bye - Bruce Springteen. Because it's about Elvis Presley dying, which had recently been on my mind. Probably not ma...

I Want You is just creepy in 2015... EC should write a new song to address this fact. has it ever NOT been bn??? from 1986 through all these years, there have been MANY truly SCARY live takes! EC should add the chorus of Creep by radiohead at the end of it... I think that would work. EC shoul...

Re: New autobiography from Bruce Thomas , July 2015
I'm a little over halfway through an advance copy of EC's book, and it's interesting to see how he tells a few of the same stories Bruce tells, with slight differences in the details (nothing contradictory, just a different perspective). So far, there hasn't been anything especially insulting to Br...

Re: Recently viewed films
I wish Love and Mercy was better that it was. It is a good film, not great. The scenes showing the Pet Sounds era were well done Agree. Went to see it on an awesome hot date last friday, which it's got a great title for... Still very good and I'd definitely recommend it. Yes the good parts were ver...

Re: Bicycles
About the Lemond, the specs were pretty low grade, Shimano 8 speed Sora running gear including weird thumb-shifters, Bontrager original equipment manufacturer (OEM) bits, including a too-long stem I had to change, tektro brakes that now had rusty screws and springs...but what the hell, it was an awe...
Re: Bicycles
Sounds like an awesome adventure, ET. And what a frame. Been getting into Cannondales and really like the aluminium craftsmanship like those rounded-off welds at the headset tube. I found an early '92 roadbike with a 2.8 series frame from when they were still handmade in the good ole USA as yours pr...

Re: T-Bone / Dylan project: Lost On The River
How come Elvis et al were seemingly so supportive of his little act rather than giving him the good slapping he so patently deserved? Hello Otis. I'll attempt an answer: maybe because it was T Bone Burnett's idea to bring them together and because he and EC agreed that this project would make 'cros...

Re: Bicycles
Here is the aforementioned newly-installed crankset:
For those interested in the specs it's a Suntour crankset (165mm) with a 40-tooth Sugino chainring.

Re: Bicycles
So the plan for the Trek is for it to be a reliable commuter bike. It needs a decent sized sturdy rear rack to which I can strap a heavy bag. I'm also tempted to modify the steerer-and-stem-in-one set-up and swap it over for one like on higher FX models where I can adjust the position of a stem (of ...
