45: Elton John 'Benny and The Jets', I think. My mom commenced a first-class rant when she thought the line was "She's got electric boobs" , started yelling about the dissolution of civilized society, and that a 10-year-old could get hold of such pornography portended the end of the world...

Mr. Misery,
Your discription of Sweet Pear was beautiful. You said everything I was feeling but couldn't express.
I love that song. It may not be my fav EC song, but I love the deep sentiment and passion it evokes.

Kojack Variety is the only EC record I have not heard.....and that's been bugging me! I have never seen this record anywhere except on e-bay. Is it hard to find? I liked The Juliet Letters. :) What I didn't like was For The Stars!! I couldn't make heads or tales of that and could not understand why ...

Rope, I agree with what you're saying.... I'd just add...if one really believes...... no, not even believes....like with your example about the sun and the moon......those people honestly thought that it was a fact that the sun rotated around the earth. Their belief in that truth wasn't disingenuous...

Re: Head trip

But what if our perceptions are factually incorrect? It could be a truth to us, but in reality, it's something completely different.
Well, that's a problem.

I was drinking Makers at 16 yrs. old. That is my favorite bourbon. George Dickel is my fav whiskey. JD tastes too much like charcoal. My favorite liquor these days is Tarantula tequila, as cold as I can get. No chaser required, and no aftertaste like Cuevo. Wow Legman, sounds like you really know w...

Ha' Penny, Thank you for saying this (about Dylan) because I didn't have the guts to. :) Bowie, no question. Springsteen is second. As for Mr. Zimmerman, at the risk of being banished from the board, his music never "hit me" like it has so many others. Don't get me wrong, I consider Dylan ...
