it wasn't the cell phones ringing.. it was people calling others on their cell phone and YELLING over the music, talking about Saturday night or something... but singing along can be great.. like that couple in row 3 or four standing arm in arm at the Greek theater.. that was actually nice to see......

Cell Phone Conversations and Sing Alongs at Elvis concerts

What is it with EC concerts where there is always loud singalongs, and very loud cell phone conversations?
Why do so many have to call their friends and yell over the music during the encores??
What am I missing? I have never seen it at other converts, only at EC converts. Should I do the same ?

wife not so excited about going to EC / SN concert

:-( ... feeling pretty selfish for suggesting we go no one can deny EC is talented.. she is just not THAT much of a fan. There are many who don't like his voice (even though they admit he sings well) there must be some others who drag their spouses along.. or who are occasioanlly ridiculed for likin...

Advice: Young Kids and Music Education - Piano and/or Guitar

I thought this may be the best place to ask the question. When you have a couple of kids, most of your focus in on their education and upbringing. Since they both can play recorder, and play by ear, we were wondering if guitar lessons are out of the question, possibly instead of piano (ages 7-10). I...

Still Available!!! I guess we just don't have a big enough base in the Bay Area. Well, though the offer is still up for grabs, I think I'll be able to get a date for the show -- I just don't know if they'll APPRECIATE the show as much as one of our groupies would. if craigslist did not work, try tr...

Hi AlmostBlue.....where are you from in Denmark? How did you get that 'ontological' search? When there it is close to Copenhagen, around Glostrup, but I am in no way from Denmark, or Danish. I took out the bottom of the signature, which was just pasted for fun. I am semi-fluent in spoken, but horri...

that would be a bad thing, wouldn't it??? I mean, Elvis Costello has a voice that irritates many, but he is an outstanding singer :-) they must mean.. these musicians has a sound that is similar to the "alternative rock," "Indie" or whatever sweeping generalization they can make....

collaboration / reccomendation

yes, and thanks for the listing.. it would be interesting to take this further. In other words, similar to BlueChairs's request for your EC top 10, take all of the members top ten groups. If you do an ontology analysis via the web on EC and Jethro and Dylan, you get: Elvis Costello Bob Dylan Jethro ...
