Re: Hi Guys

Welcome Burhead, nice that you found us, you're in good company. Hope EC announces some more dates your side of the pond soon. Here we're still reeling from the new UK 2013 dates news today - in fact we're all doing our accounts tonight and figuring out what assets we can sell to get tickets for eno...

Thanks and apologies if I thought you had kids there insulting our nations unbeloved leader - it's called speed reading and blogging rather too late at night!

Thanks Illegal, all good information, sounds like you've got great kids - you didn't also happen to catch Cameron's face during Tramp The Dirt Down did you? And did you kids get to insult Rebecka Brookes as well? Actually just looked back to set as played and no Tramp The Dirt - what the hell, did E...

The picture looks to me like he's lost his keys again in the multi storey car park. Gig wise he's on a roll though isn't he? Really we're lucky to be alive at the same time as him.

Re: When was your first Elvis gig?

Palladium, 1989, solo Spike with Nic Lowe knocking around. I was a whopping 24 years old and had got progressively more into each LP since Cruel World. Even the fact of a visiting American student sat next to me who I'd got chatty with earlier on leaning over and saying very loudly 'Wow this is amaz...

Re: "The Wrath Of Elvis": Who got it on the Revolver Tour?

Who got it on the UK leg of the Revolver Tour? As rightly pointed out already, largely the leftovers and bequests of that 'bitter and unpleasant decade', the 1980s. It was the last time Elvis was really based in these isles and the formative years, one would reckon, for many of us here. How splendid...

Re: Request for links to seviceable boots

Thanks so much for the tips Ulster Boy. The gangsters of Mega Upload seem to be on their way to chokey so more links than usual are dead. Found the San Fran shows - great stuff. So far could only find Kojak gig rehearsals, would like to find the Shepherds Bush gig as I was there, his voice was atroc...

Re: Mary Burgoyne

Interesting discussion and I might not have noticed it otherwise. I always had a bit of an issue with the American inflections Elvis's accent took on at times in the very early 80s, maybe he was a bit of a chameleon though.

Request for links to seviceable boots

I've gathered up and enjoyed a few rarities from a brief comb of this board (Heatwave, BBC Sessions, Flip City, Royalty Theatre with the A's, Lucerne with Allen) but wanted to ask those gathered here with greater knowledge if they might kindly point me towards any other gems I might be missing from ...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters, Hamburg, Germany June 3 '12

I don't want to go back home but eventually I will have to. We all do Natasha, I even felt a little like that and I only saw 3 UK shows. It's like that for musicians coming off the road too: no more hotels, you don't get people running around doing things for you all the time and you wonder why you...

Re: Elvis plays Eindhoven, June 7 2012

Thanks Moot. Be very interested to hear your reflections on the gig if any spring to mind. I like the way Elvis gives himself some either/or options in the set list. From interviews over the years we know the feeling throughout a concert is quite important to him to either guide or go with. As alway...

Some interesting almost dot joining...Crucially Steve played Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love in the rather chintzy arrangement that featured during the chart countdown of venerable BBC show Top Of The Pops, itself based on a 1970 version by a group known as the Collective Consciousness Society, led by o...
