Keyboard Jungle

I really love Keyboard Jungle, which I listen to more often than Steve's other recordings. A passionate and energetic record.

Have only heard the tracks from Playboy that were issued on the KJ reissue CD.

I've bought AF, GH, and PTC four times so far (twice on vinyl, twice on CD). And I expect to bite my tongue and buy the new TDM deluxe edition as well.

EC live recordings

This site is a useful resource:

Many well-known boots derive from soundboard or FM broadcasts, with clean sound. Here are a few to look for:

SW, you got the first two. But the third is a miss.

The third was only performed live in the early eighties. Another clue:

unheard songs

These are from John Harle's "Terror and Magnificence" CD

Come Away Death
When That I Was And a Little Tiny Boy
O Mistress Mine

and they also appear on the BBC "Songs from A History of Britain" CD.

"Long Journey Home" is from a soundtrack of the same name.

LWJ

The three I have in mind all appear on Rhino's LWJ collection. Not sure at all about the writing credits.

next question

OK, any easy one.

EC has covered three songs written by Little Willie John. (One has yet to be officially released.) Name all three of them.

Stage Fright

It's likely this is the version from San Francisco show on April 28, 1984. This song was played frequently during the solo concerts of that time, and can be found on the boot "Such Unlikely Covers".

Happy Now

I think EC also did that song on the 1984 solo tour, along with acoustic versions of most of GCW. Really looking forward to Rhino's GCW reissue, hopefully featuring lots more from that tour. In 1989 I recall he did an acoustic version of "My Brave Face", nothing at all like Macca's. Wish t...

Get Happy

I've loved this one since the day it was released. AF had caught my interest, but this was the one that hooked me forever.

EC's vocals don't sound so far away when you play it loud enough. This one sounds best VERY loud, IMHO.
