LENOX — Elvis Costello is looking back.
On Saturday, July 1, taking the Koussevitzky Music Shed stage as part of the Tanglewood Popular Artists Series on a gorgeous night, Costello slid between reflecting on his fabled career and performing classics with a pleasure bordering hedonism.
Indeed, in what was improbably his Tanglewood debut, Costello took the stage for a full 2½ hours, only reluctantly saying goodbye after over a dozen encores.
